The Responsible Fintech Institute (RFI) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Malaysian Association of Artificial Intelligence Technology and Innovation (MAAI) to advance collaboration in artificial intelligence governance, ethics, and digital innovation.

The agreement was formalised during an industry event hosted by MAAI and co-organised with BOUSTEAD HOLDINGS BHD, bringing together representatives from government agencies, academia, industry, and the broader technology ecosystem.

The partnership reflects a shared commitment to supporting the responsible development of emerging technologies through research, policy dialogue, and cross-sector collaboration. As artificial intelligence becomes increasingly integrated into financial services and digital infrastructure, effective governance frameworks will play an important role in promoting trust, accountability, and long-term sustainability.

Through this collaboration, RFI and MAAI will explore opportunities to contribute to discussions on AI governance and ethics, while supporting knowledge exchange between stakeholders in Singapore and Malaysia. The partnership also creates a platform for future engagement on topics at the intersection of artificial intelligence, digital transformation, and responsible innovation.

The MOU represents another step in RFI’s efforts to work with regional partners to strengthen governance frameworks and support the development of trusted digital ecosystems across Asia.
