Representatives from the Responsible Fintech Institute (RFI) recently met with leaders from the Ho Chi Minh City International Financial Center (HCMC IFC) to discuss the future of digital finance, digital assets, and responsible innovation in Vietnam.
The delegation was led by RFI Chairman Chia Hock Lai and included industry leaders Denis Keet, CEO of Co:Mission, Sonny Tran, Daniel Lee, and Carney Mak. The meeting provided an opportunity to exchange perspectives on the rapid evolution of Vietnam’s fintech and digital asset ecosystem, as well as the country’s growing role within the broader Southeast Asian digital economy.
During the discussion, participants explored the importance of governance frameworks and supporting infrastructure as digital finance adoption continues to accelerate. Topics included digital identity, compliance standards, onboarding efficiency, and trusted mechanisms that can help financial institutions and digital asset service providers operate across jurisdictions while maintaining regulatory alignment.
The conversation also highlighted the value of collaboration between policymakers, industry stakeholders, and technology providers in building a secure and sustainable environment for innovation. As Vietnam continues to attract investment and develop new digital finance initiatives, establishing trusted foundations for growth will become increasingly important.
RFI looks forward to continued engagement with partners in Vietnam and across the region to support the development of resilient, interoperable, and responsible digital finance ecosystems.
